Sophia S. Sheffler b. about 1842
Sophia died by 1900 so her exact birth month is not available for that year's census.
Sophia shows up in the 1870 census as Josaphine and in the 1880 census as Sophina, so her formal name could actually be Josephine or some variance of it.
She married Griffith T. Clark, whose great-grandfather Abraham Clark was a signer on the Declaration of Independence. The family remained in Westmoreland County and they had two children, Samuel S. Clark and Laura Rebecca Clark.
Samuel S. Clark fought in the Phillipines briefly during the Spanish-American War and spent his life in Connelsville Westmoreland County/Fayette County. He married very late in life, around 1923 at the age of 57. He had no children.
There is a marriage listed for 30 June 1892 between a Laura R. Clark and a Charles F. Shrader in Westmoreland County. Laura Rebecca Clark would have been 24 at this time, so there is a good chance this is her. However, I can't find any other record of this couple after that date.
